Sam backed up, nearly dropping all the flowers. She kept one firmly in hand though.

Emmet reached in the door after her, panting, arm on leg, and the other supporting his weight on the doorway.

“Bringing home strays, are we Emmet?” A man with black hair said. She stared at him. His hair…it was dark, but his eyes near pierced her soul with there ice blue. When their eyes met, he softened, seeing how perfectly terrified she was. “Hey, its okay-“

The young woman gave a little shirk and shrouded into the corner, still clutching the tiny plant tight. Her eyes were squeezed shut.

“Look what you’ve done Ryan, you’ve gone and scared her.” A new voice came. She felt the floor boards creak as someone approached her, but she couldn’t bring herself to move.

An ice cold hand touched her shoulder, and she looked up into yet another pair of blue eyes. These were soft through. The man had a pink nose, as if he was chilled, and brown hair as well, standing on end. It had a lone blonde streak. “What’s wrong, sweetheart.”

The girl shoves his hand off, and placed the plant in her pocket before trying to go to the door. As she ran, she slipped in a puddle and found herself lying on the ground. Another man, smaller in stature and much taller looked over her. He too had blonde streaks in his hair, which was slicked back. It appeared the underside was completely blonde. Camouflage?

“Sorry, love,” he said, holding out a hand for her to stand. She cried out once more and rolled to her feet, before running into yet another man.

The first thing she noticed was he was terribly warm, his hands were like a low heated fire. She stared up into his face. It was the same man who’d called her a stray earlier.

She tried to shove off him, but his warm hands kept hers. “Calm down. We’re not going to hurt you. You want some tea?” he was so soft spoken and gentle, she felt soothes, but it was short lived. She spun away from him and fell right onto the man from earlier. He stared into her eyes in absolute shock.

“What, Emmet?” A boy with very, very dark hair said in an impossibly deep voice. “No birdie around to whisper what to do in your ear?”

“Oh, you’re the one who let the stinking flowers grow,” he snapped, sitting up suddenly and tossing Sam off him. “It led her here!”

“Boys!” A strong commanding voice rang out, and a strong gust of wind silenced them. Sam stared up at a large bald man, and cowered once more. She took the moment of absolute silence to run for it.

“No!” Emmet cried.

“Let her go,” Ryan said.

“She’s got flowers!”

“That changes things!” and suddenly, just like before, the black haired man was holding her down again.

“No! NO!”

“Bring her here,” a new light voice said. Suddenly she heard soft music. It was a guitar. She looked up and saw a man with honey hair strumming one. He had kind brown eyes. Familiar eyes. He continued the lullaby and she stopped thrashing.

“Danny boy, bar the door,” she heard, but it didn’t stop how much she was calming. With the warm mans arms around her, and a sweet lullaby in her ear, she melted.

Well, that was a whirlwind of confusion, eh? Who are these guys, and what do they have to do with the Everlife flower? Better yet, why don't they want her to take it? Oh, so many questions. You'll just have to wait and find out!

Sam must feel like a pinball being bounced around from lad to lad. Of course that might not be such a bad thing. ;)
